In1983,LakepartneredwithMarieOsmond,JohnSchneider,andMickShannontocreatetheorganization,whichraisesfundsforchildren’shospitalsacrosstheU.S.andCanada.Initsfirstyear,startingwithatelethon,theyraised$4.8millionfor22hospitals,equatingtoover$15millionin2025whenadjustingforinflation.Ithassincegoneontonowraisemorethan$9billionfor170hospitalsthroughavarietyofcampaignsandevents.
