Children’s Charity of Greater Binghamton & Ross Park Zoo celebrate Easter early

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) — While Easter is not officially until April 20, several celebrations took place across the Southern Tier.
Easter is one of the top three holidays on any child’s calendar.
Hundreds of children and parents flocked to Recreation Park for the thirteenth annual Children’s Charity of Greater Binghamton Easter Egg Hunt.
Chairwoman Sue Bucci said the event was made possible by the community.

“We have 30,000 stuffed eggs that the community helped us fill,” said Bucci. “We could not do it without different clubs by 11:15 [a.m.] you’d never know there was an egg in the park.”
For many kids, Saturday’s egg hunt was the highlight of the holiday
“It’s just very rewarding,” noted Bucci. “The kids can really use it, and it’s rewarding. It’s really just [that] you should do more for your community. If you have, you should give back.”
Meanwhile, down Vestal Parkway, the Ross Park Zoo held its annual Easter event, “Eggstravaganza.”
